Research
His research interests include service user involvement, substance abuse and homelessness. Currently he is working on two research projects: Mending the Gap (service user influence in social work and social work education) and Scanian homes: Reception, settlement or rejection (homelessness policies and refugee reception strategies in Scania).
Arne is a part of the international network PowerUs, The Nordic Network for Research on Homelessness and of Alcohol and Drug Research Network within Social Sciences.
Teaching
Arne is one of the initiators of the Mobilization Course (SOPM04), which he has been working with since 2005. He also gives lectures on SOPA11 and SOPA43. He has spent several years working as a social worker. Arne cooperates with service user organizations and social workers, which he involves both in social work education and in research projects. Arne has extensive experience of supervision in social work. For several years he was coordinator for the supervision education at Umeå University. His own experience of supervision covers addiction treatment, social service and probation service.
Arne is member of the Teaching Academy at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Lund University.
